There was been a lot of mixed reviews on this scanner. It seems that the biggest issues is that many people do not have a powerful enough computer for software rendering of scans and for use of the scanner when tethered to a computer. It also looks like 3D systems hardware recommendations where too low and now have been increased on the website?

The manual and box says:
MINIMUM HARDWARE REQUIREMENTS
• Intel Pentium or equivalent processor: 2 GHz or faster
• RAM: 2GB minimum
• 1280 x 1024 minimum screen resolution
• 4 GB available hard disk space
Now the website says:
Hardware recommendations
Intel® Core i5™ or equivalent processor
RAM: 2 GB minimum
1280 x 1024 minimum screen resolution
Color: 32-bit
4 GB available hard disk space
So make sure that you have a powerful enough computer before you buy the scanner or you maybe disappointed in your purchase!
