Intel Announces End-of-Life Notices for Galileo, Galileo 2 and Joule Boards and Modules!!!

Looks like Intel is getting out of the IoT business! Below is the road path for the Galileo, Galileo 2 and Joule.

• June 16, 2017 – Product Discontinuance Program Support Begins
• July 16, 2017 – Product Discontinuance Demand To Local Intel Representative
• September 16, 2017 – Last Product Discontinuance Order Date
• September 16, 2017 – Orders are Non-Cancel-able and Non-Returnable After
• December 16, 2017 – Last Product Discontinuance Shipment Date

They are also effecting two new robotic projects that I know of the TurtleBot 3 Waffle by Robotis and the TurtleBot 2i by Trossen. I just do not understand this move by Intel? It looks like they are abandoning the Maker Movement and IoT? Plus they are stabbing two of their partners in the back Robotis and Trossen. Both of those new robotics products are just getting ready to go on sale after years of development. Not sure why anyone would use Intel products in their robotics projects in the present are in the future now?
